Naked Baby

I put Maxx down for a nap today after giving him a bath. Since it is warm, i just put him in his crib in his diaper with a blanket. I went in the kitchen to cook and could hear him fussing. He wasn't crying just whinning. So I let him whine for a while until it became a cry. I went to get him and what did I find- A NAKED MAXX! He had taken his diaper off in his bed and threw it in the laudry basket. Thank goodness he didn't have an accident when he was naked. So lesson learned-- Maxx must be clothed at all times.

Here is his diaper with all his dirty clothes.

Rocking the shorts

We are finally having some of our usual warm weather. I dressed Maxx in this cute little shorts utfit yesterday.

However, when we went outside to play, I realized that we don't have any summer shoes. So he played in his slippers. I love his slippers. They are so cute.

Easter Bunny

We went to Lakeside today to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Maxx did really well. No tears!

And he is in just his socks. I tried for 10 mins to get his fat foot into his shoe. It didn't happen. He is going on Monday to get new shoes from his Great Maw-Maw Anita.
We also met with Marisa and Baby Joe to take a pic of the boys together.

Aren't they just the two cutest little boys you have ever seen? They are so adorable together.

Blink blog

A few of Maxx's 12 month pics made it on the Blink blog.

Scroll down a little bit to see my little guy.

My name is Maxx. I like to dance.

Typical Boys

We had dinner with our good friends, The Rovira's, last night. The boys looked totally adorable in their high chairs next to each other.

They were pretty well behaved. Baby Joe danced. They clapped together. They gave the waitress a round of applause when she brought our food to the table! HA. Maxx almost feel out of the high chair (out the bottom) but that is another story. But then they turned into typical boys.

They are both checking out the little girl at the table behind us. already begins!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Little man is getting so big. He decided it would be fun to hide behind a chair today. I almost couldn't find him.

Crazy Irish folk...part 2

We had two special guests in town for the parade last weekend. I thought they deserved their own post.

Uncle Bub (who lives in VA) was in town for a week. What brought him here was an unfortunate funeral but I am really glad he was able to come in for a visit. It has been a while since we got to see him. This was the first time that he was able to meet Maxx and that was exciting.

Cousin-to-be Shay (from Little Rock) was in town this weekend too. Shay was here with all her girls for her Bachelorette party. We had a wonderful girl's dinner on Friday night and then everyone joined us for the parade on Saturday. We had lots of fun. Now I can't wait for the wedding in April!

We was also fun about these 2 special people being in town was this was the first time they met each other.

Here is a cute photo I got of the two of them.

Now bring on the wedding. It will be so nice for our family to be together again. YAY!!!

We are some crazy Irish folk!

Saturday was the big Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day parade. This is technically Maxx's 2nd St. Pat's Day but it was his first parade. Maxx was so well behaved and seemed to have a good time. He got some cute little trinkets to play with: An irish duck, a Fireman duck, a rubber chicken that squeaks! Fun stuff. I am sure he will love this parade in years to come just like we do. And in 17 years I am SURE he will be marching right along side his dad, Paw-Paw Bill, Paran Will, Uncle Jr, and all his other male relatives.

just a filler

Just a quick filler post since I have been absent this week. Lots going on this week. Lots of errands, a wake/funeral, and now preparing for the big St. Pat's celebrations this weekend. Plus, I was reading a book this week (The Time Traveler's Wife). I love to read but don't get to do it very often now. So when I do take the time to read, I get fully engrossed in it and that's all I do. The book was really good so now I have to go get the movie. I am sure I will have LOTS of pics to post from our fun this weekend. Check back soon.

One year check up

Maxx had his one year check up today. It went just great.

He is 24lbs 5ozs (75%) and 30 1/4 inches (50%). He stood on the scale all by himself so no more weighing in like a little baby. He was pretty well behaved at the visit but he just doesn't like to be kept still. He wanted to run around and check out everything. He got one shot today and his finger pricked for some tests.

We are now on whole milk and table food. Well, he still gets a baby food veggie every now and then if he won't eat or just for convenience. We got the ok to try any food we want except for choking hazards. We also got the ok to go forward facing with the car seat but I am not sure what we are going to do with that yet.

Maxx is just one active little guy. Yesterday I was in the kitchen and Maxx was playing in the living room. I look up over the bar and see his head over the love seat. Yep, he climbed up all by himself and was walking around on the couch! I yelled at him to get down and he got down on his belly and backed off on to his feet just like he should. So now he can get on and off the sofa all on his own. GREAT (insert lots of sarcasm here.) He also is trying to tumble! He started bending over and looking through his legs. Gran Pat thought he would like tumbling this weekend. Well, he liked it all right. Now he is trying to do it all by himself. LOVELY (more sarcasm.)

On a sick note, we thought Maxx had roseola last week. Well, at the dr today she said that was not it. He actually had hand, foot, and mouth disease. I have to say even though he was fussier and off last week that he was a real trooper.

For all of those who thinks he is an angel, here is one of his temper tantrums.

But right after that he looks like this so how can you not love him.

I just loved this look on his face here.
