I have wanted to post more about the begining of our renvations but that darn crappy internet is really cramping my style.

We have had two demolition days to get rid of the garage. And S has been working his but off with the rest. Moving trash, busting up concrete etc. It is a slow process but very worth it. S is doing a great job. I really admire all the work he does and the energy he has.

Demo Day #1 (and moving the big stuff that was left)

Demo Day #2

S finished off the rest of the demo by himself on a Sunday. We were able to keep the back of the bottom garage for storage since it won't be in the way of the construction.

And here S is on his machine busting up the concrete. M loves to stand in the doorway and watch da-da work.

BBQ Pork

I attempted another one of Maw-Maw El's famous recipes this weekend. BBQ Beef, however, I used pork just because it seemed healthier. It came out super yummy. It actually tasted better the 2nd day after it sat in the fridge over night.

I don't even know what to say

Seriously, WTH?? Why couldn't I have a laid back child???

18 months

Sorry it took me a while to get these up. Internet has still been wacky. M's drs appt went very well on Friday. He checked out great. He is up to 27lbs 9 oz (80th %) and 33 inches (75th %). He only gained 1 lb which I was very happy about. It means his weight gain has finally slowed down. He only got one shot which was nice. However, it was a live virus which means he has to stay away from my father in law for a while. UGH, wish I would have asked before they gave it to him. Next time I will have to remember. I know he is missing his Popsi. We took M's formal 18 mth pics with Blink the week before last. That was a traumatic experience. He was terrible. He didn't cooperate at all. He just wanted to run around and destroy things. I really hope she was able to get some decent pics. Here was my attempt at pictures. It was even worse than the professional shoot.

Sorry to leave everyone hanging lately but my internet at home is acting up. I really HATE cox. And I can't upload pics to blogger from my ipad. I will try to use S's laptop this evening to update with Maxx's latest pics and some 18 month info!

I think we might have a musician on our hands. I love how he is dancing in that squat position!

How is this comfortable?

This is Maxx's favorite position to sleep in. Butt in the air! How is this comfortable?? And notice the hand is one the binky. He must have put it back in while sleeping.

Mac, red gravy, & sausage.....

I have found myself wanting to cook lately. Especially since I have really been trying to get Maxx to try to eat more food or at least broaden his taste buds. And since I want to cook everything we have in the freezer due to hurricane season.

Last weekend I had a craving for Maw-Maw El's macaroni with red gravy and sausage. So I tried it. You have to make a roux for this dish. I had never done this and was very intimidated by the "roux". But I did it and it wasn't that bad. It was a little thick so next time I need to thin it out a little bit more. But I do have to say the dish came out really YUMMY! It makes a huge bowl and it was gone by dinner the next day. It took some pics to remember the special occasion.

Please feel free to share some yummy and/or easy recipes that you think Maxx would like. I will continue to share what I cook. Email me if you want this recipe.

Renovations have begun!!!

So only after waiting for over a year now....RENOVATIONS HAVE OFFICIALLY BEGUN!

We got our permits on Friday. The first thing to happen is tearing down the existing garage/storage rooms. We have been working very hard (more so Scott) at getting everything from the garage a new home. We pretty much just have the large heavy stuff to move. Scott has already started tearing the wood apart.

I never thought I would say this but I am so excited that I have a fully functional washer and dryer in my DINING ROOM! HA! Gotta love having a hubby who is a super-duper plumber. It was either install them in the dining room or find a place to store them and then I would have to go offsite to wash clothes for about 6 months. It just seemed easier to install them in the dining room. They don't look too terrible.

In order to get the washer and dryer in its new home, we had to move our bar. It hadn't been moved since we got it in 2004. Besides all the dust and dirt behind it, we found this.....

This is Boo's stash of paper, toys, and misc crap!! I found my packing list for Disney from 2006 in this mess. Amazing. This is where all our "lost" items must have gone.

Scott is also getting some help..from a little man that is. Scott was trying to put the extra liquor on top of the kitchen cabinets and Maxx decided to climb up to help.
