20 months!

Happy 20 months to my man Maxx! I can't believe how fast this has gone. I will be planning your 2nd birthday in just 4 short months. WOW!!!

I worked on getting the house (well porch) ready for fall on Friday. I can't really put my house decorations up now b/c the house is literally filled with boxes and stuff due to the renovations. So, the porch will have to do for now. Here is Maxx posing with our precious pumpkins. I don't carve the pumpkins anymore b/c they don't last too long. I love our "Boo" inspired pumpkin.

He was talking to the little pumpkin here. I wish I knew what he was trying to say to it.

This precious smile was b/c dada had pulled into the driveway. He gets so excited when he sees Scott's truck pull into the driveway.

So of course, he had to go jump into the truck and try to drive away!

S and I took M to go get some pumpkins on Friday. I love pumpkins so I hoped M will like them too. He really wasn't interested in the pumpkins. He was more interested in just running around, up and down some stairs, and trying to get inside some doors that he found.

YUM! I made some stir-fry a few weeks ago. My mom used to make this for us when I was younger. It came out super YUMMY.

M didn't like it however. I am running out of things to feed Maxx lately. He is becoming super picky. Anyone have any suggestions on what to cook for a toddler??

Together forever, the world seems fine...

Anyone ever seen Elmo in Grouchland??? Well, if you live in our house you would see this movie 24-7. In the movie, Elmo's blanket ends up down Oscar's trash can and lands in Grouchland. The blanket is stolen by the evil Huxley and Elmo must go on an adventure to retrieve his blankie. Maxx can really relate to this movie. Maxx has a "blankie". He is obsessed with this blanket. All M's troubles seem to go away when blankie is in his arms. I have tried to find another one but have had no luck. I am pretty sure it is from BRU but they don't seem to make it anymore. M sometimes walks around the house with the blanket over his head. Like this....

Time out

on a bench. I am trying to start using time out with Maxx when he misbehaves really bad. If I did it when he just misbehaved a little he would be sitting on the bench all day :) He is just starting to understand the concept of it. Paw-Paw bought M this adorble bench at a garage sale last weekend. He cleaned it up and it is really cute. So far M has not played on it and seems to understand that sitting on this bench is not a good thing.

Playing in the hose

It is still pretty warm down here. M and I decided to play in the hose last weekend. We have to play out on the front lawn since we don't have a backyard right now. Kind of white trash, but whatever.....

He kept wanting to pick up the sprinkler. I love how he is holding his head back so he won't get sprayed in the face.

He also liked to drag it by the concrete so he could splash in the mud.

We had a good time. I can't wait until we have a nice backyard that M can play in for hours!

Sick Baby

Maxx got his first school sickness this week. Last weekend he started with diarrhea and a cold. I took him to the dr and we were told it was just a cold and the runs were a results of the cold. So M went to school Wednesday. I noticed he wasn't really eating much either. Wednesday night he started puking. Luckily the puking didn't last very long. He is eating a little bit more now but still not great. Fortunately we didn't have any diarrhea on Thursday. I am keeping him home today just in case he still has any funk left. This is one of our first major sicknesses so this isn't fun. I am so glad that he has been a very healthy baby!

Halloween Pumpkin

Maxx went to Lakeside on Thursday to visit with the Halloween Pumpkin man. Maxx was not overly thrilled with meeting the Pumpkin this year. M did not want to sit on his lap. I am not sure if he was afraid of the pumpkin or just didn't want to be confined to the lap. On a second attempt, we sat M on the bench next to Mr. Pumpkin and he was much happier. We even got this really cute pic.

Here is a link to last years Pumpkin picture. He is really growing up fast.

Happy Birthday, Paw-Paw

My mom reminded me this morning that today would have been Paw-Paw's birthday. He would have been 80! WOW. He passed away almost 28 years ago. And I don't think a day goes by that he is not dearly missed by lots of people, me included. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. I am sure he would have been one of most important people in my life. I know I would be as close to him as I am to my Maw-Maw, if not even closer. I know he would be totally in love with Maxx. But I know he is up there, somewhere, smiling down on us, watching me bumble through this crazy journey of mommyhood, and lending a helping hand when he can.

Here is one of my favorite pictures. That fat baby on Paw-Paw's lap is ME and that beautiful women standing behind him is my Maw-Maw.

For those who you who are still fortunate to have your grandfathers in your life, please cherish them. I am so thankful that Maxx has 2 incredible grandfathers. I really hope that he is able to have a strong bond with them. On that note, I would like to ask everyone to keep praying for my fathers in law, Maxx's Popsi. He just finished his second batch of Chemo for T-cell Lymphoma and is struggling with painful skin. I know the Henderson's could really use some prayers and positive thoughts during this trying time in their lives.
